That Doesn't Scare Me

"The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?"
Psalm 27:1

Fear is a very powerful word.  And, if and when it overpowers us it will do one of two things. Fear can immobilize us, and quite literally stop us in our tracks, or cause us to run for the hills.  If we fear our ability to succeed in weight loss, we often find ourselves unable to make the healthy choices we need to make for success.   Or running away and denying that anyone or anything can help us.  Quite ironically, we may even find ourselves sabotaging our journey, by endlessly snacking or overeating since, "We can't do it anyway."  The Bible says that God is your savior and protector.  In today's verse the words salvation and stronghold are used.  Whatever the words, in your weight loss journey that means He and He alone can protect and save you from your enemies.  So often we see food as the enemy, but unfortunately, our biggest enemy at times is ourselves.
Today, I encourage you, when fears associated with weight loss arise, battle them with faith.  Take the offensive in your weight loss journey, proclaiming that God will save you from anything that threatens to hold you back!  Let Satan know once and for all that his tactics to distract you, and keep you from success "Don't Scare Me Anymore!"

Let's Pray.
Dear God,
Today I will walk in faith and not fear.  I have nothing to be afraid of on my weight loss journey, because You are at the forefront this time.  Leading, guiding, and saving me from the temptations I cannot overcome on my own.  Thank you God for rescuing me from myself!  
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ I pray,

That Doesn't Scare Me!
Some Bible scholars claim the phrase "Do not fear" is mentioned no less than 365 times in the Bible. One for each day of the year.  That's powerful.  I encourage you to embrace the following scriptures, committing them to memory, and reminding yourself, "That doesn't scare me anymore!"

“But when I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise.  In God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”
Psalm 56:3-4

I have chosen you and have not rejected you. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:9-10

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you, wherever you go.”
