A New Creation

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
2 Corinthians 5:17

Old things have passed away!  How exciting to be able to say that today on your weight loss journey!  You no longer approach weight loss the same.  God is working inside you to change the way you look at food and eating.  Friend, embracing this fact allows you to know that you will never have to go back to another "diet" again.  You are a new creation in Christ.  Let that sink in today, and allow it to influence what you choose to eat, how much, when and why you eat.  You have embarked on a transformation that will last forever!  I hope that excites you!  Tell the world, spread the good news, you are a new creation!  God has breathed new life into your soul, life that will allow you to lose this weight once and for all, and walk boldly in your God-given purpose.

Let's Pray.  
Dear God,
I am a new creation.  Wow!  To think that this truly is my last weight loss journey, is sometimes overwhelming.  I have tried so many times before, and now I have found the missing link.  I am so grateful that old things have passed.  I will forever proclaim what You have done.  Today, I celebrate all the new things that are coming my way as a result of You living inside me.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ I pray,

A New Creation
For some of us, believing that we are a new creation and will never have to go on another "diet" again is a little hard to believe.  But let me ask you this,  do you believe God's word?  Do you believe what it says?  If so, you must believe that you are a new creation, and old things really have passed away.  Take a look at these four verses and what they say about you being a new creation!

1. Lamentations 3:22-24 "Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”
Truth: You are a new creation every morning.  God's mercies are new and so is your opportunity to start fresh!
2. Isaiah 43:18-19. "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."
Truth: God is calling you to let go of “former things,” so that you can see He is doing something new in your weight loss!
3. 2 Corinthians 4:16-17  "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all."
Truth: God continually makes us new. Every moment of every day brings a fresh beginning.  Don't lose heart!
4. Colossians  3:9. "Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator."
Truth: Your old, sinful nature is dead. You learn to grow in your new identity in Christ as you learn more about His power and His plan for your weight loss.  It's a journey.  Ask Him to help you enjoy the journey.
Everyday, embrace the opportunity to have to start fresh and embark on new, healthy habits.  For you are a new creation in Christ!
