From Weary to WARRIOR

I have been on a health and wellness journey long enough to know that my health matters if I am to find victory in stressful times.  Feeling run down, gluttonous, and shameful has no place in a warrior’s life.  If you are feeling weary and worn down due to life's struggles, I want to share with you 4 Simple ways you can take charge of your body and take charge of your battles! And Win!

Get adequate rest-Science will surely back me up here.  Time and time again we find that adequate rest is vital for making healthy life decisions.  The less rested we are, the more likely we are to make poor eating choices, move our bodies less, and feel heightened stress.  Please pray about this one. Ask God to help you find ways to get no less than 6 hours of sleep each night, but preferably more like 7 or 8.

Spend time in God’s Word-I just had this conversation with my kiddos the other evening.  The Bible truly is our training manual for coping, and finding success in life.  If you want to ace Algebra you will have to crack that book. If you want to ace life, you will have to open that Bible.  Make no mistake. There is a solution for every battle you face in God’s Word. But you’ll never know the answers, unless you read the Book.

Plan-but be flexible-I have learned throughout the years, that no matter what, life will find a way to interfere with my weight loss plans! Flexibility has been key to my success. Structure has it's place, but when life throws a curve ball, simple journaling and portion control have been my keys to maintaining control!

Remember, it’s a lifestyle NOT a Diet–I never change the fact that I’m on a health and wellness journey because of a season, holiday or situation.  I simply adjust how I approach it!  When you truly embrace this one fact, moving toward health and wellness become part of who you are, and not a dreaded chore you have to complete.

Be blessed in your wellness journey today, realizing that you are new creature in Christ, designed for amazing things.  Never forget that the God who created you wants you to know that
“He who began a good work in you, will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
