Don't Settle 4 Just A Little Bit

"May the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."
1 Thessalonians 5:23

Have you ever found yourself "settling" for something less than you intended?  Settling for baked potato when your fave restaurant was out of sweet potatoes.  Settling for a blue version of your dream car, because the color you want to purchase won't be in for 8 weeks.  Settling in an unhealthy relationship because, "that's just the way they are, and I can't change them." (Well you may not be able to change them, BUT GOD CAN!)
And, settling for a 15 pound weight loss because you just can't seem to break through this plateau.

Can I tell you that there is NOTHING in the Bible that teaches us to settle for less than what our heart's desires are!  In fact there are more verses that speak to the opposite.   In reading the Bible, you will not come across verses that say,
"If you don't get what you pray for, just be thankful for what you have."
Yes, we are told to be grateful for all of God's many blessings, but we are also told to
"Pray without ceasing."
We aren't taught that God wants to "bless His children a little bit."
His Word says that He is "able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we could ask or think."
And it is "His good pleasure to give you the Kingdom."
Just typing this, gets me excited.  I have so many hopes and dreams for my future and the future of my family.  And I know you do too!
So why are we settling for just a little bit of His goodness?
Even in our scripture today, we see that God longs to sanctify us completely!
 Not just a little bit.
He wants to take away ALL your unhealthy desires and behaviors.
Cleanse you as the Bible says, "from all unrighteousness."

Sometimes, we must face the fact that we are our own worst enemies, allowing Satan to beat us down and keep us down for far too long.  Satan is a defeated foe.  Repeat that.  He cannot touch what God has in store for you.
1 Thessalonians 5:24 is your reminder,
"He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it."
Allow Him to be faithful to you today.  And to do what He said He would do.  Show Him you believe what His Word says, by walking out your day in praise, regardless of what's going on around you.  The storm may rage, but you can still walk on the water.
Just keep your eyes on Jesus, and don't settle for just a little bit!

Let's Pray.
Dear God,
I won't settle today!  I am coming to the realization that You want me to have it all.  My heart's desires and then some.  And as I grow closer in my walk with You, my desires are lining up with Yours.  And for that I am so very grateful.  I long to be obedient to You each and every day.  My desire today is to treat my body with respect and feed it ONLY things that will honor and glorify You!  Thank you for giving me the desires of my heart!
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ I pray,
Amen
