Do You Need Some Good News

"Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted."
 Matthew 5:4

Are you in a season of uncertainty?  Faced with financial struggles, and still dealing with weight issues?  Wondering how to navigate this crazy world?
Could you use some good news today?
Me too!  The other morning in my prayer time, in a major battle with my feelings I said,

"God, I need You need to send me someone.  I am at a loss. I have no idea what to do with the circumstances I have found myself in.  I am frustrated, and I am weary.  I need Your help."

I want to share that very real prayer with you because there is a testimony behind it.  After I prayed that prayer, I decided to let go of those strong feelings for the day.  My youngest was celebrating her 13th birthday, and due to pandemic restrictions, a party with friends was not going to happen.  So I had promised a day of shopping with a couple friends, and I was determined not to let my feelings get in the way.  And praise God, He helped me.  We had an amazing time shopping and my baby girl picked out her very first "young lady" Kate Spade purse from an outlet mall just about an hour north of our home.  It was a gorgeous day, filled with fun and laughter.  Giggles, and new church clothes.  We truly had a beautiful day.
When I got home that night, a friend texted and asked if I had received the gift she left in my mailbox, earlier that day.  "I had not",  I told her and then headed out to grab it from the mailbox.  And when I did, I knew God had answered my prayer.
It was a beautiful teal journal and on the front, the scripture,
"Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 37:4.
As many journals do, each page reflected a different scripture and as I began to read the various scriptures at the top of the pages, I began to weep.  I knew He was speaking to me.  I knew these words were more than just scriptures, they were love notes from God.  I proceeded to write them down in the journal as if that was exactly what they were.   And the message that was created was far more beautiful and much needed for my hurting heart.  This is what He wrote:
"When you find your joy in Me, I will give you what you desire.  I created you for this time, and even though you are hurting, I am here to comfort you.  You will be clothed in strength and dignity and from this moment forward, you will walk without fear of the future."

If you are reading this, I believe God wants to tell you the exact same thing.  Will you receive it?  Have you been asking Him for a sign for your hurting heart?  Do you need some good news?  I pray you are as blessed by God's words as much as I was in that moment.
Will you join me in finding your joy in God today?  Embrace the fact that even though you have trouble in this world, and in weight loss, you need not fear.  God has already overcome this world.  And He has great plans for you today.  And success for your weight loss journey too!
That is the best news of all!

Let's Pray
Dear God,
Thank You today for your precious words of encouragement.  God, I am learning that when I read Your words, they are more than scriptures.  They are personal words of love and hope for me.  Help me today to fully embrace what You want to say to me, and live out the truth of Your word.  You have overcome the world.  You have overcome my battles with weight and food.  I am here for such a time as this and I will walk without fear of the future.  I praise Your holy name.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ I pray,
Amen

Spices are often under-utilised with weight loss and overall health and wellness.  Be encouraged to incorporate the following "Star" spices in your cuisine.  They will help improve sleep, concentration, and promote relaxation and weight loss!  Now that is great news!
1.  Cinnamon
With its spiced, wintery aroma, cinnamon is enveloping, warming and stimulates neurons. Whether in sticks or ground, cinnamon can, influence brain function by boosting concentration, memory and attention. It's also a great solution for calming sugar cravings.
2.  Turmeric
This spice's yellow ocher shade will brighten up any dish. Known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, turmeric also stimulates the release of serotonin, the happy hormone. It's often sprinkled on top of soups and chilis. For something different, try adding it to fruit-based desserts.  The flavour can pleasantly complement sweet dishes.
3.  Rosemary
Rosemary has incredible medicinal properties. In cases of physical or mental fatigue, burn-out and depression, it can give the body a welcome boost. It notably helps with insomnia and with calming nerves.
4.  Thyme
Thyme is a good ally in cases of mental fatigue, stress and insomnia. As well as containing lithium, a mineral with antidepressant properties, thyme contains the amino acid tryptophan, used to make serotonin, which is essential for sleep. It also stimulates the mind and calms the nerves.
