I've Got So Many Things to Thank Him For

"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
1 Thessalonians 5:16, 17

To be in the will of God.  This is my desire everyday.  I even pray these specific words every morning.
"God, all I want to do, is to be in Your will today."  
I'm sure this is the case for you, too.  Yet, how long does it take for us to get out of His will?  If I'm honest, I'm not even in His will when I'm praying sometimes.  Yes my mouth is saying, "I want to be in Your will."  But my head is already thinking negative thoughts, experiencing frustration and anxiety about my day.  Harboring strong feelings towards a brother or sister in Christ.  Hanging onto dissension and strife.  
All right in the middle of my prayer and Bible reading time.  
And I call myself a Christian.
Wow.  Makes a person wonder what those who aren't professing Chrisitianity are doing?
Today during my prayer time, I asked God for a message.
"I can't be the only one who struggles in this way," I said to God.
 "What can we do to break free?"
 He led me to 1Thessalonians 5: 16,17.  
"Get in My will, He said.  Not yours.  My will is easy.  You make it complicated.  
You have so much to be thankful for, yet you worry about what you don't have.  Rejoice.  
Yes, you still have struggles, and I am here to help you.  
So keep praying.  
But....
BE THANKFUL.
I am here.  I have not forsaken you, and I never will.  I have a plan.  It's a good plan.  Don't worry about how it unfolds, just
rejoice, pray and give thanks today."

Maybe this speaks to your heart today.  It can be difficult to get past all that is going on in the world. But as Christians, our number one goal is to be in God's will.  And His will says nothing about worrying, fighting, remaining in oppression and fear, it simply says,
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God."
Be blessed as you simplify your life today.  
When God is in control, we truly have so many things to be thankful for!

Let's Pray.
Dear God,
I will start this prayer with thanks.  I have so much to be thankful for, and it all comes from You.  I am so grateful for the loving Father You are.  Guiding me everyday into a deeper and more meaningful life through my relationship with You.  I will rejoice in this day and continually pray, knowing You will meet my every need.  I praise You Heavenly Father for loving me enough to give me this revelation.  I have so much to be thankful for!
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ I pray,
