November 30th, 2005.  D-Day, I guess you could say.  The day that changed my life forever.  At least in terms of weight loss.  I remember it well.  I was spending another day frustrated and full of guilt.  Eating my way through the day, picking up toys off the living room floor, tending to my two babies at the time; Gracie just four and Jonah a very rambunctious two year old.
As most days went, the television was on in the  living room adding background noise to an already loud house.  And in that season of my life, I didn't miss an episode of Oprah.  But on this particular day, it wasn't the topic of her show that got my attention, it was a commercial.  One for Weight Watchers.  And even though I had seen them a thousand times before, this time it got to me.  "Join now for FREE."  That word free always gets me.  But let's just say this time it really did.  Before I knew it, I was on the phone with my little sister begging her to go with me and join.  "Let's do it together," I said.  In less than two hours, there we were sitting in our very first Weight Watcher meeting ever, new members with our starter kits, and full-on motivated.

Fast forward to later that evening.  I was terrified.  I had just committed money we really didn't have in our budget to something I was sure I wouldn't stick with; losing weight.  I had been down this road so many times before.  
Tried and failed.  Lost and gained.  Guilt and shame.
As the fear began to set in, anxiety followed behind.  What would I tell people if I didn't lose the weight?  How would I admit to my husband that I didn't stick with it?  Negative thoughts upon negative thoughts.  How am I going to do this?  
In that moment I hit my knees.  Right there beside my bed.  The prayer below is the prayer I remember praying.  On this day of my anniversary, I want to invite you to pray this same prayer  with me today.  Go to the next level in your weight loss journey.  

Maybe you have never lost the weight before.  
Maybe you have lost it and gained it all back.  
Or maybe you are at a plateau and cannot break through.  
Friend, my journey can be your journey.  You do not have to travel this same road over and over again.  Let today be the day you begin your very last journey to success in weight loss!  Take God on the journey, pray and embrace what His word says,
"From this day on, I will bless you!"
(Yes, even in weight loss.)

Dear God,
I need Your help.  I cannot do this alone.  God I have tried and failed.  Today I am motivated, but I know I will lose my motivation soon.  God please step in and help me.  I know I must get healthy for my family, myself and most of all for You.  I promise if You will help me lose this weight, I will tell the world what You did for me and I will always give You all the glory, honor and praise!
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ I pray,
