Job 8:7

 Several years back, I set a goal to write a devotion for our Equipped4More family every single day for an entire year.  I remember vividly as the year was coming to a close that I had taken on a task that was proving to be much more difficult than I had anticipated. (Sounds like a weight loss journey doesn't it?)  I never want what I write to be from me;  I truly want what I say to come from God and be profoundly inspirational.  I write so that the members in our E4M family (and anyone else who reads our devotions) find new motivation everyday to stick with their goals.  Yet, as the year was winding down, so was my brain.  Many days I remember I seriously struggled to write something new and fresh.  
But when God provides a word, sometimes I can't get my thoughts down fast enough.  Such was the case, December 1st, 2020.  Right after praying the following prayer:
"Thirty-one days God.  What can I write about for thirty-one days?  And how can I motivate our family to stay on track with their weight loss goals in December?"
Can I tell you that we serve a mind-blowing God!  In the nearly ten years of utilizing scripture to inspire others on a weight journey, I had never contemplated today's verse as being relevant for weight loss.  But as I prayed that morning, He led me right here.  And immediately I knew this word was from Him.  A message He wanted to convey to our Equipped4More family.
And in a year that had been nothing short of crazy and chaotic, how badly do some of us need to know the end would be so much greater?
Friend, I am here to tell you, your end is so much greater than your beginning.  If I could offer you solid advice today, I would say this,
"Believe what God has told you."
 For so many, God told you it was time to get healthy.  He led you to our Equipped4More family and since that time, Satan has stopped at nothing to distract and deter you.
Go back to what God told you.
As we embark on the start of the last month of this year, believe what God is telling you.  Another translation of Job 8:7 says,
“Though your beginning was insignificant, yet your end will increase greatly.”  
In other words, your weight loss (or maybe your life in general) has felt insignificant until now, but God is about to turn that around.
Does that excite you?  As this new month begins, I pray you find the courage to boldly embrace what God wants to do in your weight loss journey, and in life.  Take your weight loss back and tackle them like never before.  
Set your goals.  
Drink your water.  
Do your squats.  
And get ready,
 the end is so much greater than the beginning!

Dear God,
I just want to shout for joy over this verse.  God I desperately need my end to be great.  I have had struggles in my weight loss journey this year that seemed to come out of nowhere.  Even when I thought I had things under control, Satan attacked.  Help me to embrace the truth of this verse, and go after what You want for me.  I am so grateful for this reminder.  God, my end will be so much greater than my beginning!  And I give you all the glory, honor and praise for that!
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ I pray,

The End Is So Much Greater!
As you begin this last month, consider what the following verses mean for your weight loss journey.  Embrace the truth of the verses and thank God for what He is about to do in your weight loss and in your life!

“I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you.”  Joel 2:25 (ESV)
God is going to restore your hard work in your weight loss journey.  Get ready!

“And he who was seated on the throne said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new.’ Also he said, ‘Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.'”  Revelation 21:5 (ESV)
God is doing something new in your weight loss journey.  Get ready!

“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near.”  Isaiah 55:6 (ESV)
Call on God now about your weight loss struggles.  He wants to guide you to success!

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”  2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)
Old behaviors and thoughts about weight loss have passed away.  You are a new creature in Christ!
