Run Your Race Today
Don't forget the strategy at the bottom!
We want to help you actively practice what you are reading today!
Let God move mightily in your life!
Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it."
1 Corinthians 9:24
I think Paul knew a thing or two about perseverance and pressing on. In several of his letters to various churches, he speaks about fighting the good fight, and running the race. Imparting the wisdom that says,
"There is only one way to succeed; don't quit; don't give up."
This is priceless knowledge for you and me on our journeys to health.
Everyday (no make that every meal) is your fresh start. Your chance to change things.
We ALL get stuck. We ALL have "those days." But quitting, especially after you have tasted a little victory is no longer an option for you.
Friend, you have three choices in this weight loss journey; that's it.
1. Quit now and stay at the weight you are at.
2. Quit now and gain back every thing you have lost (and maybe more.)
3. Or keep going until you reach your goal.
There are NO other options.
(And just so we're clear, taking a break until you get motivated again, or until the new year is quitting.)
I share that harsh reality because I know you've tasted those victory days. Days when you felt good in your skin. Days when you to almost see yourself at "that weight."
I want you to keep pressing for that victory.
You have nothing to lose, and everything to gain. Wait! No, make that, you have everything to lose and nothin to gain!? No, well, you know what I mean.?
Ask yourself this;
Which is worse?
?The momentary frustration and anger about not eating the cookie, candy or those chips?
Or....
?The nagging guilt and shame resulting from eating the whole bag and dealing with the physical repercussions later?
(That pounding headache? It probably has less to do with the stress of your life, than it does the excessive sugar you consume in a sleeve of Oreos, or a carton of ice cream.)
Friend, thankfully your race in weight loss is against one person-YOU.
Heed Paul's advice. Run this race so that you cross the finish line and win the prize!
At another time Paul encouraged the church at Galatia with these words,
"Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9
And the church at Philippi with this,
"Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6
God will carry out and complete what He started in you.
So let today be the day that you get back out there and run your race.
Let's Pray.
Dear God,
I want to run my race today. Thank You for helping me see that there are no other options. I do not want to stay where I am, and I cannot go back to where I was. Thank You God for reminding me that I will have victory if I do not give up.
Today is my day to run my race. I will finish strong.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ I pray,
Amen
