God Wants You To Know This
Don't forget the strategy at the bottom!
We want to help you actively practice what you are reading today!
Let God move mightily in your life!
"But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel."
Philippians 1:12
Recently, I completed a little mini-study of the book of Philippians during a session while I was enrolled in a school of ministry, and here's what I think you and I can glean from this most encouraging letter.
First, it is by far Paul's most positive and upbeat letter. It speaks about finding joy in difficult circumstances. It's warm and encouraging. And, although just four short chapters, the book covers a multitude of topics from relying on Christ's provision, to the importance of fellowship with God.
And it speaks of learning to overcome in all circumstance and pressing on toward the goal. (Doesn't that just scream weight loss?)
Second, Paul encourages his readers regarding how to find true peace and contentment, even in the most difficult times. My, how we need this in light of today's world.
But friend, here is why you need to embrace, believe and begin to live out when reading this most beautiful book.
Paul wrote this book while inprisoned in his own home.
Many of us are inprisoned by circumstances and we too, feel alone and isolated.
Paul understood the meaning of isolation. He knew what chains felt like. And he knew what oppression was. Yet, through it all, he didn't eat his way through, attempting to find peace and comfort. He didn't allow fear to immobilize him to the point he couldn't find the motivation to get off the couch. He used this time to write one of the most encouraging letters the church at Phiippi ever received.
And it still encourages us today.
Let Paul's letter to the Philippian church remind you that this season of your life was not meant to be wasted. You were not meant to put life on hold and allow fears and distractions to keep you from moving forward. Paul proves here that even in the midst of what feels and looks like prison, you can have great impact on the world around you.
Satan would like nothing more than for you to just stop working. Just quit. Put life (and goals) on hold. But Paul proves that even when the enemy tries to isolate and hinder your work, God can provide a way for you to do your best work.
Paul wanted us to know something.
He wanted us to know that through Christ we can do all things.
He wanted us to know that God called us to shine a light in a dark world.
And he wanted us to know that the things that we are going through right now, will ALL turn out for our good, and God's glory.
I want you to know this too!
Let's Pray.
Dear God,
I want to embrace what Paul is teaching. I know that You are working all things out, and simply waiting on my cooperation. I give it to You today. I believe I can do all things (including losing weight) through YOU. I will continue to press on for the goal, and stop looking back. Today is a new day filled with fresh opportunities. Thank You for being my steadfast companion. I give you all glory, honor and praise!
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ I pray,
Amen

God Wants You To Know This
The following are four of my most favorite scriptures from the book of Philippians. Be encouraged as you meditate and memorize them to know this: You are on your way to lasting success!
1. "Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."
Philippians 1:6
God is faithful. He will finish what He started in your weight loss journey!
2. "That you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world." Philippians 2:15
You were designed to shine. Getting to your healthy goal, is part of the refining and shining process!
3. "Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead." Philippians 3:13
No more looking back. It's time to move forward, pressing on for the goal!
4. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13
Yes, YOU CAN!
